Невероятно – я не только вернулась в Индию после своего первого путешествия тут зимой (Есс! я это сделала!!!), но теперь даже позволяю себе возвращаться в какие-то места в рамках своего пребывания тут! А что – я же не какой-нибудь турист – я тут живу! Понадобилось – села – поехала куда надо!
Unbelievable – it is not that I just came back to India after my first visit here in the winter (Yess! I did it!), but now I also let myself come back to certain places within my trip! Why not? – I am not just a tourist – I live here, so I can go wherever I need!
This is the day I was leaving Dharamsala, specifically McLeod Ganj, when the nature gifted me with a beautiful view after almost a week of fogs.
Это день моего отьезда из Дарамшалы, а именно МакЛеод Ганжа, когда природа одарила меня прекрасным видом после почти недельного тумана.
Говорят, всю неделю тут было ясно, и остатки ясности я застала еще сегодня утром, за завтраком израильским фалафелем и хумусом!
They say it was clear here all the week and the remaining of the clarity I caught today in the morning when was enjoying my breakfast consisting of Israeli falafel and hommous!
I am now in Dharamsala, but in a different village – Daramkot (max 30mins away on foot) close to where my course on buddhism will take place. And there are so many Israelis always staying here that most restaurants offer Israeli cuisine, laundries put signs in Hebrew and so on.
Я сейчас в Дарамшале, но в другой деревне, Дарамкот (пешком максимум пол-часа), поближе к месту, где будет проводится курс про изучению буддизма. Тут обычно селится так много израильтян, что рестораны предлагают израидьскую еду, прачечные выставляют вывески на иврите и тд.
И вообще местечко без претензий, милое для шанти зависания в теплый сезон. Сейчас же он перестает быть таким, и в течение дня постепенно горы затянуло туманом ((
And generally the place is nice, without extra claims, suitable for long shanti stays in warm season. Now it is getting over, and the mountains got gradually lost in fog again during the day.
By the way, it’s weird – the winter is coming and it will even snow here later, but trees are blooming – unlike a week ago.
Кстати, странно – идет зима – тут даже снег потом будет, но деревья цветут, чего не было неделю назад.
Зато что оказалось неизменно – это гулянья, гремящие то тут, то там! Говорят, сейчас сезон свадеб, и вот сегодня я спала под местные напевы и настуки (барабанов).
Though what remained unchangeable – are celebrations here and there! They say it’s a wedding season now and I slept today under sounds of local singing and drumming.
It’s less pleasure when you hear a wedding from your bed instead of pooarticipating there. But last time I was lucky enough to visit two different weddings at two different stages.
Менее прикольно слышать свадьбу из своей постели вместо того, чтобы участвовать в ней. Однако в прошлый раз мне повезло побывать на двух свадьбах в их два разные этапа.

Here they are – wedding decorations!
Although my first experience was a second wedding day, and then luckily together with my Russian travel buddy we got to visit the ceremony of the very first day of another wedding, I will describe on the right order.
Хотя мой первый опыт индийской свадьбы пришелся на второй день празднования, и лишь затем мне вместе с моим русским попутчиком посчастливилось побывать и на первом дне церемонии, я изложу все по порядку.
Жених в сопровождении своих гостей отправляется от своего дома под звуки барабанов и дудедок.
The groom accompanied by his guests leaves his house with sounds of drums and other noisy instruments.
Here the band sat resting when the groom git into his car (yellow number shield actually means a taxi…?.. )
Тут, правда, оркестр присел отдохнуть, когда жених уже сел в машину (желтые номера тут вообще-то на такси..?..)
Тем временем в багажник несли запихивать что то эдакое.
Meanwhile someone was bringing something strange to put into the car’s back tunk.
На место проведения церемонии – у невесты дома, мы попали спустя часа 4 , после 8 вечера, застав жениха сидящим под шатром в компании друга.
We glarrived at the place of the ceremony – the bride’s house, about 4 hours later to find the groom sitting under a ceremony tent together with his friend.
It seems like he’s been sitting there fir hours in his heavy clothes
Кажется, он сидел там несколько часов в своих тяжелых одеяниях.
Народу собралась куча!
So many people came!
Жениху пришло время выкупать невесту, для чего на него напялили огроменную маску
It was time for the groom to go and get his bride, for which he was put on a huge mask
В какой то момент я увидела, что невесту занесли на плече в комнату, куда теперь идет жених с торгами, или что там у них происходило в дверях почти пол часа.
At certain moment I noticed someone brought the bride on his shoulder to the room whereto now the groom is coming to “purchase” his bride, or whatever was happening there with them at the door for up to half an hour.
Тем временем один из пандитов (священников, которых двое проводит церемонию – один ответственен со стороны жениха, другой – марш стороны невесты) охраняет алтарь 🙂
Meanwhile one of pandits (there are two of them running the ceremony – over e is responsible for the groom and the other – for the bride) guards the altar 🙂
and guests are free to join any time during the night a row on the ground to get their wedding treat – always the same menu – rice and curries, more about it later.
А гости могут в любое время всей ночи присоединится к ряду на земле, чтобы получить свое свадебное угощение – меню всегда одно и то же: рис и соусы, но об этом позже.
Мы тоже угостились со знанием дела с предыдущего дня
We also took our treat with knowledge from a previous day
Когда жених заполучает свою невесту, проходит фото и видео сессия
When the groom receives his bride, they have a photo and video session
I don’t know what had been happening in that room before, but I captured the evidences
Не знаю уж, что происходило в этой комнате до этого, но улики я запечатлела
и соучастников тоже

Далее все переместились к шатру и началась сама церемония женитьбы.
Then everyone moved to the tent and the marriage ceremony began.
Ппндиты как дети в песочнице с разными формочками игрались то наливая, то насыпая что-то
Pandits like children in the sand ground were playing with their toys by filling them with something and transferring further on
Female friends of course were gossiping nearby
Подружки невесты, конечно же, сплетничали неподалеку
The groom also likes to play with the Pandits’ toys
Жених тоже хочет поиграться с игрушками пандитов
и только невесте не до игр, она все время сидит под покрывалом и иногда даже плачет. Я так и не поняла, это по сценарию так положено, мол, что отцовский дом покидает, или на самом деле
and only the bride is not playing – all the time she’s sitting under a cloth cover and sometimes even cries. I couldn’t get it – whether it is planned by scenario or age is really upset to leave her father’s house.
and pooandits start playing with the fire… naughty men!
а пандиты уже с огнем играют… шалунишки!
Жених сжалился над невестой, чтоб не скучала, всунул ей под накидку кочергу, чтоб хоть подержалась, и ковырял ею в земле
The groom decided to be compassionate to his bride and pulled an iron thing into her hand under cover – at least to keep it for a while while he draw or dag the ground with it
The bride got tired of all, stood up and says: ok, enough for me, I am leaving! (I’m joking of course)
Невесте надоело все это, она встала наконец, и говорит: все, я пошла! (я шучу, кончено же)
Но жених уйти не дал
But the groom didn’t let her leave
говорит, куда собралась? ты мне теперь жена – борщ варить должна! 😉
and says: where are you going?! you are my wife now, must cool borsch for me 😉
and they kept going like this one after another in circles , as the bride is under a cover, cannot run away far!
так и ходили по кругу один за другим, тк невеста же в покрывале ничего не видит – далеко не убежит!
Ну тогда им гости дорогие тарелку с зерном принесли, чтоб те потушилт огонь своих распрей (гм, а может с таким смыслом и правда все и делалось)
And then guests bright to them a plate with crops so that they put out their fire of disagreements (who knows, it might be the real explanation for what was happening – why not?!)
А приближенные гости секут все со стороны
And closest friends are watching it all from the side
Ну и дальше место пляскам, само собой. Правда, молодые в этом уже не участвовали, а куда-то исчезли. Ох уж и весело было понаблюдать за скачущими индусаии под знакомые нам из фильмов напевы!
And then it’s time to dance of course. But the newly married did not participate and disappeared somewhere. However how fun it is to watch Indians jumping with music also known to us from some Indian movies!
тануют только мужчины, но и я имитировала танец с другом, который привел нас на свадьбу
only men dance, but I also imitated a dance with a friend who brought us to the wedding
Позже появился жених, где дел невесту – непонятно.
Later the groom showed up. Where he lost the bride – unclear.
В подарок от нас получил статуэтку бога Ганеши (тот, что слоник – символ удачи во всех начинаниях) и богини Лакшми (символ процветания) как порекомендовали местные
He’s got a gift from us, as recommended by locals, a statue of god Ganesha (the one who is elephant – a symbol of successful beginningd) and goddess Lakshmi (a symbol of prosperity)
and tea drinking before we left
